Tahun 1996, lagu  "RIVERS OF BABYLON"  (Dove, McNaughton) dari grup reggae "The Melodians" (1970), yang telah dicover oleh grup disko "Boney M" (1978), dan grup Ska punk "Sublime (1992), kini kembali di cover oleh grup band rock Kristiani "The Kry" dari Kanada.

Mazmur 137 : 1 - 9, ber judul "By The Rivers Of Babylon" dalam bahasa Inggris, isinya bercerita tentang "Pembuangan Bangsa Yehuda ke Babel", setelah penghancuran kota Yerusalem tahun 586 SM, pada zaman raja Nebukadnesar.

Mazmur pasal 137 ini merupakan doa, keluhan dan curahan hati dari bangsa yang terjajah (Yehuda). Rasa dendam, geram dan marah pada penindas dan penjajah (Babel), serta  berharap Tuhan akan membebaskan mereka.... telah banyak di kutip dan "dijadikan" lagu dalam berbagai versi.

Judul lagu dari "The Kry" ditambah ("By the") di depan ("River of Babylon") mengacu pada judul dalam Alkitab (Mazmur 137) "By the Rivers Of Babylon". Ini karena grup rock Kanada ini, adalah grup Kristiani, yang ingin menyampaikan lagu yang benar-benar Alkitabiah.

Dengan demikian, mereka mewakili Kristiani, yang ikut ramai-ramai menyanyikan "Rivers Of Babylon", yang booming saat dunia diserang demam disko. Itu, masa jayanya Boney M, pada akhir 1970an. Khususnya ketika membawakan lagu ciptaan Dowe dan McNaughton dari The Melodians ini.

Lirik yang di pakai "The Kry" adalah versi "Boney M" yang non Rastafarian. Murni kutipan sebagian dari (Mazmur 137 dan Mazmur 19). Tanpa ada istilah seperti "King Alpha", "Over I", apa lagi kata-kata yang diteriakan oleh The Melodians(1970), pada pertengahan lagu dalam versi reggae mereka.
